High Density Polyethylene Plastic Granules
high-density polyethylene (HDPE)
Often abbreviated as HDPE, it is also called linear polyethylene because its chemical structure has no branches.
CHARACTERISTICS AND APPLICATIONS
Compared to low-density, high-density or linear polyethylene:
- Is very tensile resistant
- Is harder and more opaque
- Can withstand fairly high temperatures (around 110/120°C)
HDPE has several uses such as:
- containers (such as detergent bottles and milk bottles)
- plastic furniture
- pipes
- bottle caps
- prostheses
